Our model represents a small electric-powered boat, intended for a variety of purposes, including trips to land, supply or rescue. By default, it is intended for one person, helmsman and cargo, but after the deck covers are removed, it can fit up to six or seven people, i.e. most of the submarine’s crew. In a Nautilus submarine, the boat is stored in a watertight compartment on the deck and can be launched both while on the surface and submerged. It was in this boat that Professor Arronax, his servant Conseil and whaler Ned Land escaped from the Nautilus submarine.
